What's it about?

If you've attended our Participation events before, you'll know that we've gone on a journey from providing the chance for those passionate about participation to come together, learn from each other and collaborate, to looking at how the lived experience is viewed in Scotland.

This event will be focused on Corporate Parenting, where we'll hear about, experience and take part in a whole variety of activities that will support Corporate Parents to think about and embed participation in your work. The idea is that everyone who attends will come away from this event with a whole variety of participation ideas, from initial planning of participation, to engaging young people and other groups, to support and evaluation.

As always, we'll include some creative - and fun! - activities and there will be space to share good practice, tackle cross-cutting themes as a collective and help develop new skills in participation, co-production and facilitation. Alongside this, we will also have fun activities specifically for children and young people. The Network is free to attend and lunch will be provided. As always, the agenda has been developed by a steering group of volunteers, and will be led by young people on the day.

Is it for me?
If you work for an organisation that has been named as a Corporate Parent in Scotland, we'd love to have you come along. This includes police and fire services, health, early years to higher education, housing, creative industries, policy makers and regulatory bodies. You'll be joining alongside Champions Boards, established participation groups and young people already involved in solid participatory and co-production projects.

What's next?
Also, we wanted to give you advance notice that the theme of the 6th Network will be Rights, another big topic that we can influence and shape as a collective.

About us
The Network itself is a partnership between practitioners and people with lived experiences - essentially, anyone intereseted in participation. So please share the details of this event with anyone you think would be interested in taking part.

Hope to see you there!
